Life Live it… Love it… and Photograph it
I have a passion. It began when my first child was born. As each of my children began their life's journey, that passion became greater as I captured their every move. I document moments that seem to be gone in a flash. My children, ages 20, 18, 15, and 13, are my inspiration to create life in my images.
In 1997, I began my photography business. The Bronica was my first professional camera. As we moved into the digital age, I set aside my film and began working with files. What first seemed overwhelming became a very rewarding adventure. I realized that as easy as it seems to capture an image digitally, it is actually more difficult to capture a technically correct digital image. My knowledge of lighting and composition play an important part in being able to represent the moment as it is. Everyone knows when they like a picture, but they don’t always know why. It’s my job as a photographer to listen to my client, and produce an end result that reflects what they want. The art of photography is creating a visual even before picking up the camera. Black & White, Sepia, Color – each style has its unique way of representing those images. My children, and my life experiences, have given me the perspective that I use to create images.
In August of 2006, I moved into Covington and have enjoyed the energy of the village. My studio is located in the Leapin Lizard Art Gallery at 726 Main St in Mainstrasse. I use the studio and surrounding environment for photo shoots. I also specialize in location photography – at a home or park. A photography session can be a fun, rewarding, and ultimately priceless experience. |
