The Artist’s Statement

 

I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography from Northern Kentucky University in the spring of 2003. I chose photography over other mediums because unlike other methods of art, photography has a right and a wrong.  There is a ‘creative structure’ in photography that other means of art do not have which fits my personality very well.

 

Soon after graduating I was hired as a mortgage broker, acquiring an office with a window in northern Cincinnati.  I got out of the arts and photography wanting a ‘normal’ life until I realized how boring normal can be.

 

I came back to photography little by little until 2007 when my husband and I started our own photography business in Covington, KY called Shine Photography .

 

There are many people in this world who are in careers that do not bring out their best qualities or talents.  I can honestly say now, that I am not one of them.
