THE ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I believe in the power of a seed. I want my work to be that seed, a provoking idea or question planted in the viewer. To engage each other and ourselves is the purpose of life. Creating art is simply one of the best ways I can have a conversation. |
|
The work I make is mostly subconscious, very organic and primal. I use a variety of media; fabric, paint, photography, sculpture, drawing, found objects and installation are a few. While exploring, I feel it is essential to become intimate with material, physical space and time spent while creating.
Tangible subjects I am most engaged by are women, self-portraits, landscapes, and peculiar objects. Abstract subjects come from my subconscious, which are expressed as shapes and line woven together to form an emotional canvas.
The process is to capture transient moments in physical form. The product is the evidence of the process. |
